Real affection grows as someone gets to know you. Love bombing skips that part. The flood of compliments, constant messages, and instant commitment is not a feeling; it is a technique.

For a romance scammer, your attachment is the product. Once you feel bonded, you will explain away the excuses, defend them to friends, and eventually send what they ask for. The faster they can manufacture that bond, the sooner the asking starts.

Notice the last line of the example. Asking you to pull away from other people is not devotion; it is isolation. Fewer voices around you means fewer chances someone says "this looks like a scam".

Red flags checklist

• "Soulmate", "destiny", or marriage talk within days of matching.

• Messages from morning to night, and guilt if you take time to reply.

• They agree with everything you like; you never once clash.

• Requests for exclusivity or secrecy almost immediately.

• Any push to move off the dating app to WhatsApp or Telegram right away.

The manipulation tactic

This is manufactured intimacy. Flattery in high volume floods your judgment, and the rush of being adored makes you commit before you can evaluate.

What to do, and what not to do

• Slow the pace on purpose; watch how they react. Anger or guilt is the tell.

• Reverse image search their profile photos.

• Tell a friend or family member about the new relationship early.

• Never send money, gift cards, or private photos to someone you have not met.

• Keep conversations on the dating app; the app's filters exist to protect you.
