Flggd Scam School · Investment & Trading Scams · Lesson 6 of 19

Someone is offering you a once in a lifetime investment opportunity, and they need your answer now. Here's the quiet truth that kills this pitch: real opportunities repeat.

The message looks like this

Example of a once in a lifetime investment pitch scam message

Why this is a scam

Markets produce good opportunities constantly; that's what markets are. Anyone framing an investment as unrepeatable is selling emotion, because the facts wouldn't survive a week of thought.

The "contact", the "round", and the "window" can't be verified, and that's deliberate. You're asked to trust a chain of people you've never met, quickly, with money that travels one way.

Red flags checklist

  • The phrase "once in a lifetime", or any claim you'll never see this again.

  • Access comes through a friend-of-a-friend you can't contact directly.

  • A named deadline for handing over your decision and your money.

  • Secrecy: "don't share this", "I shouldn't even be telling you".

  • No documents; everything lives in chat messages and phone calls.

The manipulation tactic

Fear of missing out, sharpened by flattery; you were picked, and picked people don't ask for paperwork.

What to do, and what not to do

  • Say no to any investment that can't wait a week.

  • Ask for documents and the fund's registration; watch the story wobble.

  • Verify any "contact" independently; real brokers are searchable and licensed.

  • Never invest to avoid disappointing a friend.

  • If a friend sent this, warn them; they may be the scam's first victim.
