Flggd Scam School · Investment & Trading Scams · Lesson 18 of 19

Your trading mentor says deposit more, because tomorrow brings the trade of the quarter. After weeks of small wins, this is the breakthrough. It's also the moment the entire relationship was built for.

The message looks like this

Example of a trading mentor signal scam message

Why this is a scam

Everything before this message was preparation: the small wins, the patient teaching, the friendly check-ins. Scam mentors run dozens of students toward the same scripted "breakthrough", because the big deposit is where the con cashes out.

Real markets offer no twice-a-year certainties, and real mentors don't size your account. The urgency, the specific dollar figure, and the mentor's own "$50k" are stage props with one purpose: your largest transfer yet.

Red flags checklist

  • A specific big trade requiring a specific bigger deposit.

  • The mentor claims to be investing alongside you.

  • Deadline pressure: positioned by Thursday, before the window closes.

  • Your account is suddenly "too small" for proper profits.

  • Previous wins are cited as proof this one is safe.

The manipulation tactic

Manufactured momentum. Weeks of small wins create a story arc that demands a climax, and you're invited to fund the ending.

What to do, and what not to do

  • Never deposit more to "unlock" a bigger trade.

  • Ask to withdraw your current balance first; the reaction is your answer.

  • Screenshot the signal and every promise attached to it.

  • Assume other "students" are receiving the identical message.

  • Exit the mentorship and report the account; then warn your bank.
