The Flggd scam library documents 165 scams across twelve scam types. The stories differ every time. The moves underneath them do not.
We have documented 165 scams in the Flggd scam library. Parcel texts, job offers, investment groups, calls that claim to be from your bank, messages from someone who says they have the wrong number. They are sorted into twelve scam types.
Read enough of them and something becomes obvious. The stories are different every time. The moves are not.
A scammer can invent a new story in an afternoon. A new parcel company, a new government scheme, a new coin. That is why lists of scams to watch for go out of date so quickly.
What a scammer cannot easily change is how persuasion works on a person. Across the library we count eleven tactics. Here are three you will meet again and again.
A clock. The parcel goes back today. The account closes in an hour. The offer ends tonight. The deadline is never real. It is there because a person with fifteen minutes will act, and a person with a day will ask someone.
A borrowed name. Your bank, the tax office, the police, a delivery firm you use every week. The name carries trust the sender has not earned. The tell is never the name. It is the instruction: pay this way, move your money, do not hang up.
A reason to keep quiet. Your family would not understand. The investigation is confidential. Do not mention it until it is settled. The reason changes. The purpose does not. It removes the one person who would say the obvious thing.
You do not need to memorise 165 scams. You need to recognise a handful of moves. A message you have never seen before, about a company you have never heard of, will still be using a clock, a borrowed name or a reason to keep quiet.
When you see one, the response is the same every time. Stop. Check the message. Talk to one person, out loud.
Each scam in the library sets out how it starts and why it works. Each tactic has its own page, linked to the scams that use it.
If you have a message in front of you now, you do not need to read any of it first. Paste the message and Flggd will tell you what it sees.
