The Flggd app

Two screens of the Flggd app on phones. Left, the home screen: choose how to submit a scam message, by pasting a text or uploading a screenshot. Right, a verdict: This is a Scam!, with four red flags: Impersonates USPS, Suspicious URL, Urgency for payment, Unusual domain.

Paste a message, upload a screenshot or scan a QR code, and get a verdict with the red flags explained.

What it does

The Flggd app answers one question: is this message a scam? Paste the text, upload a screenshot or scan a QR code, and get a verdict with the red flags explained.

Around that sit short guides and games that teach how scams work, and a dashboard of everything you have checked.

Email Scan connects a mailbox over Gmail OAuth or IMAP. Its history is stored encrypted on the device, with a retention setting of 30 or 90 days.

A parcel, a bill, a statement from the bank. Most mornings, the inbox is ordinary. One of these emails isn't.

Without Email Scan, you have to spot it yourself, then copy it somewhere to ask. It's a small fee, it's urgent, and the page looks right. The one you don't spot is the one you pay.

Flggd Email Scan is in the Flggd mobile app, on iPhone and Android.

Connect Gmail with your Google sign-in, or Outlook, Yahoo, iCloud, or any IMAP mailbox.

Tap Scan Now. Your recent emails are checked by the same engine behind the Flggd app's verdicts.

Results land in three tabs: safe, flagged and scanned. Open a flagged email to see the full verdict, and the red flags behind it.

Your scan history stays on your phone. Long-press any result to add a private note. Disconnect, and the stored sign-in is deleted.

It's for anyone whose inbox carries the parcels, the bills and the bank. Instead of guessing, you can see which emails to leave alone. Before you click, not after.

Why check a message before you act on it?

Because the moment that costs money is the next one: the link you tap, the number you call back, the payment you make. A check takes less time than the scammer's deadline. It gives you a reason to stop, and the reason is written down so you can show someone else.

What happens when you check something?

Send Flggd the message in whatever form you have it. Paste the text, upload a screenshot, or scan the QR code. Flggd returns a verdict, lists the red flags it found, and explains in plain words what the message is trying to get you to do. You do not need an account to run a check.

What else is in the app?

  • Your history. Every message you have checked, with its verdict, in one place.
  • Share the warning. Turn a verdict into an image and send it to the family chat, so the next person does not fall for the same message.
  • Short guides and games. How the common scams work, in a few minutes at a time. People who know the pattern spot it faster.
  • Email Scan. Connect your inbox and scan it for scams from the app.

What does Email Scan do with my email?

When you tap Scan Now, it checks your emails on your phone with the same engine as the app, and shows each result in a Flggd mailbox. Gmail connects with Google sign-in. Other providers connect through IMAP. The scan history is stored encrypted on your phone.
