According to KSHB, scammers are using the wait for Grand Theft Auto 6 to push fake early-access emails, ads and downloads at fans.

The game is not out until November 19. Rockstar Games, the studio that makes it, has not announced any early access before that date. That single fact is what makes every version of this scam work: anyone offering to let a fan play GTA 6 early is offering something Rockstar itself has not made available.

How the approach lands

Various leakers claim to have their own builds of the game. Some of this reaches fans as an email promising early access. Some reaches them as an ad. Some reaches them as a download link shared in a forum or chat. The format changes; the claim underneath does not.

Clicking through can lead to malware built to steal information from the device. Other versions are simpler: a payment page designed to take money for something that was never real in the first place. Either way, the fan is not buying early access to a game. They are handing over data or cash to whoever built the page.

Why it looks convincing now

AI-generated graphics have made fake links and ads look more believable than they used to. A fake screenshot or trailer clip no longer needs real footage behind it to pass a glance. Netflix did release a genuine 25-minute gameplay preview in August, ahead of the November launch, which gives scammers real footage to mimic or splice alongside their own fake material.

GTA V came out in 2013. GTA 6 is the first new entry in the series in over a decade, and it was originally planned for release last year with no specific date ever announced. That long gap, and the delay on top of it, is exactly the kind of wait that makes fans want to believe an early copy is real.

The tell

The scam depends on one gap: the difference between what fans want to be true and what the studio has actually announced. Rockstar has not said early access exists. Any email, ad or download claiming otherwise is working against that fact, not with it.

A fan who wants to check a claim has one reliable step. Go to Rockstar's own channels directly, rather than clicking the link in the message, and see whether the studio has said anything about early access at all. As of the report, it has not.
