Microsoft never contacts you first about a problem with your computer. If a popup, call or text sent you looking for this number, that message was the scam.
REAL MICROSOFT

• Never phones about a virus on your PC
• Never asks for gift cards
THE SCAM

• "Your computer is infected"
• A full-screen browser warning that won't close
• "Install this so I can help"
